Growing the sport of disc golf on BC's Sunshine Coast

Spring Fling Registration

Our next tournament in the 2023 Tour, the SC/DC Spring Fling, goes Saturday, April 15th OR Sunday, April 16th at Shirley Macey Park in Gibsons, BC.

The event will be a Flex Start tournament meaning that competitors are free to play their 18 hole tournament round on either Saturday OR Sunday. This is a flexible new format for us that is meant to create a more casual event that doesn’t demand as big of a time commitment for competitors.

How it works

It’s simple, I promise. In fact, it’s much simpler than our usual events.

Here’s the plan:

  1. Register for the event below
  2. Pick a friend or two or three to play your round with
  3. Score your round together in UDisc
  4. Kick your feet up and watch the scores roll in

You’re free to choose your cardmates and your tee-time, regardless of division.
Play anytime Saturday, April 15th or before 5pm on Sunday, April 16th.

All standard rules are in place and competitors are expected to officiate play accordingly.

One important rule to note though: Once you begin scoring your official tournament round in UDisc, there’s no going back. You cannot decide part-way through the round that you’re gonna re-start. Conversely, you cannot retro-actively go back and score a practice round just because you shot well. Just be honest, it’s a much easier way to live.

You pick who you play with, you decide when you play and then you play. Simple.

Divisions & Layout

The tournament features the following Divisions:

  1. Junior (U13)
  2. Recreational
  3. Intermediate
  4. Advanced
  5. Open

For help on choosing the appropriate division, check out these guidelines.

The tournament will feature a unique layout devised and created by long-time club member and #2 ranked Open competitor Denny Nordli. The layout will be marked and ready for practice on Friday, April 14th.

Registration & Cost

Cost for the event is just $10 pre-paid via e-transfer. No cost for Junior (U13) competitors.

Other Details

No official pre or post game celebrations for this event…BUT trophies and cash prizes can be picked up when the club hosts a random draw doubles round at 5pm on Sunday, April 16th.

Junior competitors will be playing just the F9 of the layout. Any Junior competitors looking for a card to play on, let me know and I’ll arrange something.
